Your Mid-Week Butt-Kickin’ – Volume 1 – September 7, 2011
So when I sat down to start writing my Wednesday lunch post (which is late for its first Wednesday) I wasn’t really sure what to write. Now to be quite honest I have saved pages and pages in a blog file which is full of pages of things I have read or stories I have heard. So there won’t be any shortage of new material to come up with for Wednesdays. I guess my main concern was, WHY WOULD ANYONE LISTEN TO WHAT I HAD TO SAY ABOUT MOTIVATION OR SELF IMPROVEMENT? I mean the fear I guess I have is people finding out I’m not an expert. What if they find out I’m not perfect and I fail on almost a daily basis (which is a good thing, actually). Then I figured out why I am qualified to do this: INTENT.
In my office as a Chiropractor, I have built a successful office on mainly one premise, my intent is always honest and in the best interest of the patient. I have spoken to many patients that have been patients for years and the comments have always been the same. They never felt I was selling them something (a course of care) that they didn’t believe I truly believed they needed. They understood my intent was pure. This is when I felt good about writing to you today. The Wednesday lunch blog is named “The Mid-Week Butt Kickin’” It’s to help you kick butt by starting with your butt.
On this hump day whether your week is going great or a disaster, I want you to take a look at the intent with which you are doing things. Is your work simply to sell as much as possible or put a person in the best possible product. We are still living the disaster of that breed of brokers that put people in the best product for their own pockets and not for the best fit for the client. The mortgage brokers that did it right are still in business, the others are looking for that new pet rock. When you are doing things with you spouse or significant other is it only to gain favor or is it truly to benefit that person and make their day a little easier? Do you donate to see your name on a list, or because it is to help the cause. You know how you feel when you deliver with the right intent, but here’s the secret; the receiver feels your intent as well. And in a weird “Rules of the Universe” thing, those that deliver with the right intent are ultimately rewarded. Have a great finish to the week and I’ll have your next “Tool” on Monday.
